Population diversity is an important goal of Cognitopia. I won’t go into why its good or rail against white privilege as others have done a better job than I could. The objective is to be proactively diverse in terms of race and sexual identification, but not in terms of religion or culture.

Why not religion and culture?

First, Cognitopia is a secular society where religion is not promoted or supported nore is it prohibited. Other than the practice of Cognitopian Virtues, which is a philosophy of living rather than mysticism, Cognitopia discourages religious expression or practices but in cannot forbid it. Cognitopia and its exclaves are owned by the cooperative, a business, so there is no obligation to erect churches or to observe religious ceremonies or traditions. At the same time Cognitopia cannot forbid religious expression as long as it remains private such as in the manner of dress or private gatherings.

Culture is also not forbidden and will naturally come with new citizens, but Cognitopia strives to create its own culture and preference is given to those activities that align with Hypatia’s culture rather than other cultures. Just as is the case with religion, Hypatia cannot and should not forbid all cultural practices but it will not endorse or promote them either.

Ensuring a Racially and Gender Diversity

Hypatia will be legally established as a minority-owned business. The requirements vary for host nations that support this type of designation, but in the United States — the first host nation for a Cognitopia exclave — a minority owned business ownership must be 51% minorities. Below is a possible very generalized breakdown of racial distribution.

Gender Identity is balanced against world population numbers with the objective of more gender diversity and might be distributed as follows:
